Health is Wealth

Recently when I was sick, I could really understand the meaning of 'health is wealth'. One does not at least I could not realise seriously why it is important to take care of health. I have never been so frightened about health before I spent my Diwali night in a hospital. Probably, first Diwali when I was not with my children.

There will be sympathy for you (some are genuine) though very short term. I realised to put the health first, family first. This time my parents were with me during Diwali as they generally stay in my home town. Oh God! I missed the really precious moments spending time with my parents - a rare occasion, which I am going to miss for a very long time.

While in hospital, I was thinking of my work but soon I realised someone will replace me at work but the family is going to miss me if something untoward happens. It is an art how one withdraws from work during family time. What I do for living one thing but what I do to live another thing but more important.

While in hospital, I could hear and see crackers, which reminded me life is colourful but short to waste on petty things. It is not important what people think about you (it is the noise of the crackers) but it definitely important what you think about you ... what your conscience tells you. Everyone has opinion and they perceive & form opinion as per their mindset - one should not be worried about the same.

First time in my life I felt that I should have been more careful about health ... I can't reverse the past but can surely shape up the future. 'Work' is one out of many material things in our life. Don't be too attached to 'work'. You loose 'work' - you will get one more or an alternative but you loose life - there is no replacement - there is no second chance. I have learnt my lessons in 72 hours of my life, which I saw more closely than ever - now I can see the clear sky behind the cloud!

Sai and Sannibh missed me on Diwali and so do I but I have made one promise to them that I will do my best that it does not happen again.

May Lord Jagannath be with us and bless us all the time.

Wishing you a great year ahead. Stay healthy!
