Health is Wealth

Image
Recently when I was sick, I could really understand the meaning of 'health is wealth'. One does not at least I could not realise seriously why it is important to take care of health. I have never been so frightened about health before I spent my Diwali night in a hospital. Probably, first Diwali when I was not with my children.  There will be sympathy for you (some are genuine) though very short term. I realised to put the health first, family first. This time my parents were with me during Diwali as they generally stay in my home town. Oh God! I missed the really precious moments spending time with my parents - a rare occasion, which I am going to miss for a very long time. While in hospital, I was thinking of my work but soon I realised someone will replace me at work but the family is going to miss me if something untoward happens. It is an art how one withdraws from work during family time. What I do for living one thing but what I do to live another thing but more importan

The Dusk

Image
I never like one day break after weekend - then series of work to be done. I always felt it breaks flow of life and work. Always, it gets wasted in different activities, which you never wanted to do! Moreover, the day in between is least productive. Now that the dusk has arrived, thought to write about the day. What a great day? I have done too many unproductive activities like fixing the water filter, buying a cabinet for unnecessary items purchased by me and so on... One thing that I did today which I always like is nurturing of my plants. Now actually too many for a balcony garden but greed here is accepted. I interacted with few people today and everyone is in hurry. No one wants to waits and so do I! Why should I be different from others. The society will not accept you if you are different from others. While wondering, few thoughts that came to my mind: Greed kills. Arrogance destroys. Anger humiliates. Be humble - keep contributing to the society. Subha Vijaya! #tosangy

Karma and Samay

Image
Karma and Samay are two side of the same coin. You will get return of your Karma in this life hence Samay is complimentary to Karma. Karma is what you do - good or bad! Samay helps to give it back to you as your Karma defines your destiny. We as human being with superior intelligence should ensure to give back to the society. This should be our Karma. However, it this materialistic world, we became selfish and we forget the purpose of life. Please remind yourself when you have helped someone without any expectations.  I have seen people rise and fall due to their Karma. Karma is binary and hence either you have done good or bad. There is no middle path.  Lord Krishna explains to Ajuna the theory of Karmas. He said believe in yourself and do your Karma (action) and success will follow you automatically. Doing Karma is in our hands only, Result is not in our hands. Below given is meaning of famous Shloka from Bhagavad Gita. Karmanye vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana । Ma Karmaphalahetur

Diversity

Image
Almost everyone is talking about diversity now a days. Diversity can be from various parameters - caste, religion, race, ethnicity, age, gender, marital status and so on…  It is such a serious topic and at times discussed so loosely. Diversity brings in synergy. Let us take example of 5 fingers of a hand - we need each finger to have maximum synergy. Each finger is unique in its shape and contribution. Similarly, through diversity uniqueness leads to diverse qualities hence superior synergy. It is easy to talk about diversity but difficult to implement. One of the biggest show stoppers is ‘mindset’. While some advocate for mindset at a leadership level at a workplace, I feel that it is mindset of each individual at workplace. As mindset impact workplace much later. It starts to influence diversity much earlier than we know. Diversity is a vast area even gender diversity (LGBTQA+) and don’t want to write so many things in one blog. For the time being, let us discuss on female/male diver

Life principles

Sitting in my home balcony garden as I was thinking what to do on this rainy Saturday, it suddenly came to my mind why not to write a blog. I had this account for a quite a long time but had never written anything! Feeling refreshed after 5 days of hectic work. There was a point in my life when I used to love writing but as life moved on and as moved to corporate rat race - forgot to write my thoughts and opinions. There is only jungle of emails where everyone is lost and so do I! These trees in my balcony are talking to me. Look at us - we are spreading greenery and oxygen in spite of many challenges faced by us. You must understand that our roots are important for us, which keep us alive! Every tree has a different perfume and built - curry leafs, lemon grass, tulsi, rose and so on… There are many challenges in our lives. One learning from my trees are keep your root strong! What is the root? My principles of life! Principles must not change due to the surroundings that you are in. S
